Who Knows Who Cares - Local Natives
One of my early favorites off the album that I have played 900 times. If anyone would like to reenact this video (complete with Hook-style foodfight and outdoor dance party), please let me know and I will make arrangements.
Yeah, this show was a great time even though most people were wiped from a hot P4k weekend.
Local Natives were way better at Lincoln Hall that night than at P4k that day, but who isn’t better at Lincoln Hall? Taylor Rice should try to protect his forehead from the mic more often (see 4:24). But the crowd sure loved the energy he was bringing. (He’s a nice dude, too.)
Here’s another great take-away show from the Natives:
Chaaaa, bro.
Welcome To Daytrotter (Trailer)
Extremely happy for these guys - a killer website idea that keeps on growing and growing, providing great live music from the bands we know & love - now the subject of a documentary. Check ‘em out: Daytrotter.
Not only one of my favorite destinations on the web, but they are making a movie? Hell yes. This trailer, wow. Local Natives, Free Energy, Dawes, the incredible talking of Justin Townes Earle. Worth a view.
These guys streamed a Paris concert on their Facebook page today.
If you missed it, I’m sorry for you. Here is another awesome piece from La Blogotheque to make it feel better. I cannot wait for P4k this weekend!
Travis, will you shut up now?
I don’t know how much I like this video, but I love this song by Local Natives.
It’s really reminiscent of this Mumford & Sons video, which I don’t love either, but they don’t have the same director. Strange.
I also dig this tune (and the whole album).
A cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Cecilia” by Local Natives.
They recently sold out a double show at Schubas. See them at Pitchfork or Lincoln Hall in the coming month.
This cover is on this playlist by Fuel/Friends blogs, which you should definitely check out.
And while I am fairly sure I could rock a mean coffee cup percussion solo, I’m not sure anyone could outdo this guy on the tree-drum.
