Not a huge fan of American Apparel but this is pretty brilliant.
THESE TIGHTS SPEAK THE TRUTH.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. I might have to passive-aggressively gift these to some people this Xmastime.
“A new chapter in a storied brand.” Or, as Cassie accurately assessed, clothes that are a sweet combo of The Gap and J. Crew. Good looking and not too expensive. And a nice little viral presence, too.
Yeah, I’ll rock that. And you get a free messenger bag if you spend $100.
On the street, cheap and chic, Milan.
The Sartorialist nails it, obviously. I hope Chicago actually has a fall season so I can wear moderate layers before we have to pile on the clothes.
The end of Rabbit, Run. Oh, I cried. Given, I was reading it at 3 a.m. because I couldn’t sleep. That could have something to do with the crying.
Conclusion: Numbness, where there should be despair, is the most difficult human emotional state for me to read about. I don’t know if it’s because I can’t relate to it, or if it’s because I think it must mean that someone’s despair is so deep-rooted that is has completely overwhelmed any emotional ability and I don’t want to imagine that. To write about that kind of numbness, Updike was most likely working from some familiarity. As difficult as it was to read, surely it must be harder to live in any degree.
“He puts on his shirt and doesn’t bother with a coat and necktie but it seems to take forever putting on his socks; the soles of his feet are tacky.” Apparently putting on socks is an issue for a lot of men. I have heard three guys (two real, one fictional) complain about this lately.
“He hates all the people on the street in dirty everyday clothes, advertising their belief that the world arches over a pit, that death is final, that the wandering thread of his feelings leads nowhere. Correspondingly he loves the ones dressed for church: the pressed business suits of portly men give substance and respectability to his furtive sensations of the invisible, the flowers in the hats of the wives seem to begin to make it visible; and their daughters are themselves whole flowers, their bodies each a single flower, petaled in gauze and frills, a bloom of faith, so that even the plainest walk in Rabbit’s eyes glowing with beauty, the beauty of belief. He could kiss their feet in gratitude; they release him from fear.”
“Only by going downhill can he be returned to the others.” Sums it up.
There has to be a Chicago equivalent of “how you doin’?”I am in love with this shirt.
What a tee.
Really want to check out the new line of Gap 1969 jeans. People are saying good things.
