Bob Dylan ft. Emmylou Harris - Oh Sister
My favorite kind of wintertime tune. And while I love the associated music, this weather can certainly take a hike.

Bob Dylan ft. Emmylou Harris - Oh Sister
My favorite kind of wintertime tune. And while I love the associated music, this weather can certainly take a hike.
— Good call, Bob Dylan.

1. Heartbeats - Jose Gonzalez
2. To Love Somebody - Ray Lamontagne and Damien Rice
3. Hotel Chelsea Nights - Ryan Adams
4. Just Like A Woman - Bob Dylan
5. Loving Cup - The Rolling Stones
6. For Emma, Forever Ago - Bon Iver. Especially in this version, “Go find another lover.”
7. All These Things That I’ve Done - The Killers
8. That’s How Strong My Love Is - Otis Redding
9. This Will Be Our Year - The Zombies. This person’s family videos rule.
10. And on an obvious note, Refuge (When It’s Cold Outside) - John Legend (and Stay With You and Sun Comes Up).
Christmas makes me (s/h)appy!
Imagine that.
Copperhead Road - Steve Earle
Cinderella - Langhorne Slim
Tangled Up in Blue - Bob and the Rolling Thunder Revue
Blue Ridge Mountain Blues - The Avett Brothers. I had a dream last night that Crackerfarm photographed my cousin’s upcoming wedding and I died of jealousy.
Mary, Queen of Arkansas - Bruce Springsteen
Sweet Sweet - The Smashing Pumpkins
Back to work.
Anonymous asked: If you could only save one of the following groups, which would it be, Ken and Colin or the Avett Brothers? Also, if you choose Ken and Colin you can never listen to Bob Dylan again.
Wow, so you are anonymously forcing me to make Sophie’s choice. Bold.
So my options are The Avett Brothers die and the music of Bob Dylan no longer exists, or Ken and Colin vanish off the face of the earth, taking with them my first introduction to Kuma’s Corner, the 2nd row seats to Arcade Fire at the Chicago Theatre, my entire trivia/mental floss success, and the best Family Feud party of all time?
So long, handsome boys. I guess I’ll listen to Justin Townes Earle and Ezra Furman.
Thank God in heaven that this is a hypothetical.
Now ask me something else!
“Oh, Sister” - Andrew Bird
Dec. 15th at the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago. He played this Bob Dylan cover as part of the encore of his Gezelligheid show. Not the best quality but had to put it up.
He also played “Some of These Days” to encore, which did not allay my desire to learn fiddle one little bit.
Bob Dylan - Must Be Santa.
Speaking of weird performance art, this video is weird, and great, and festive. Especially Bobby’s hair. I kinda want Christmas to be like this, this year. Rowdy, sparkly, cajun, many hats. And a weird, gravelly voiced old dude with a silver bob.

If you ever wondered how I turned out this way…
This is the house I grew up in.
Last night at our usual tuesday trivia we posed the question: What is the best three album stretch a musician/band has ever had?
Of course you know the first thing that came to everyones mind was Three Dollar Bill Yall, Significant Other, and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water by Limp Bizkit. Easy winner.
KIDDING
But for real. Many were mentioned. My favorites are-
1. Led Zeppelin - II, III, and IV
2. Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main Street
3. Michael Jackson -Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad
4. Bobby Dylan - Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, Blonde on Blonde
5. Metallica- Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, …And Justice for All
6. Radiohead - The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A
Also a few ones that I personally love that probably wouldn’t make other lists-
Allman Brothers - The Allman Brothers Band, Idlewild South, At Fillmore East
Miles Davis- Porgy and Bess, Kind of Blue, Sketches of Spain
Beastie Boys- Licensed to Ill, Paul’s Boutique, Check Your Head
Jane’s Addiciton - Jane’s Addiction, Nothing’s Shocking, Ritual de lo Habitual
Kiss - Dressed to Kill, Alive, Destroyer
Clash - The Clash, Give em Enough Rope, London Calling
Guns n Roses - Appetite for Destruction, Use Your Illusion I, Use Your Illusion II
High On Fire - Surrounded By Thieves, Blessed Black Wings, Death is this Communion
Sigur Ros - Agaetis Bryjun, (), Takk…
Rage Against the Machine - Rage Against the Machine, Evil Empire, Battle of Los Angeles
Nirvana - Nevermind, In Utero, Unplugged in New York
Poison - Look What the Cat Dragged In, Open Up and Say… Ahhh!, Flesh and Blood
If I wanted to bend the rules I’d include Wham!/George Michael - Make It Big, Music From the Edge of Heaven, Faith
Sadly, Motley Crue and AC/DC do not make the list, not enough back to back to back consistency
I am very sure I forgot a few, so leave yours in the comment section!
(Note: I do not have a comment section)
Since Ken can’t get comments, tell me what you would add. Are those Bob’s best 3 in a row? I like Nirvana but I’m not sure Unplugged counts. I would say Beck but stupid Mutations gets in there between Mellow Gold and Odelay, and Midnite Vultures. RHCP Californication, By The Way, Greatest Hits… do greatest hits albums count? Otherwise, it’s Stadium Arcadium or One Hot Minute, which aren’t my favorites. U2, Shan? Smashing Pumpkins, Walker? Van Halen, Todd? I think pretty much any 3 of The White Stripes’ 6 LPs would be up there for me. Ponder ponder.
